shifter question

does anyone know if i can just replace the shifter **** on atx(broke wire to od button on old one) or should i just replace the whole thing...bought one from another sho forum member...great shipping and shifter is in great shape..so which would be easier/better?

i replaced the whole shifter works great....but still no od button and not sure if it 4th/ od is there....shouldnt i get a light at some point when i first turn the key....and what is normal rpm range for highway use..ie 55 or 60....is 3000 normal for the 95 atx or any year for that matter?

3000 is too high for 55/60 mph - sounds like either the tc is not locking or the trans is not going into 4th.

check codes - if there is a real problem, the pcm will store transmission codes. let us know what you find.

ok whats the best way to pull codes the paperclip way i assume?

oh also thought i would mention cruise control also doesnt work if that helps
