shifter noise

hi all...
this is my first time in the sho forums so i would like to take a minute to say hi to everyone.... hello

ok now to my problem

i have a 93 mtxsho... when i shift into 2nd or 3rd i here this weird grinding/rattaling noise that come from under my center console.. car seems to be shifting fine... how do i fix the annoying sound

You're really going to need to narrow down where the sound is coming from in order to fix it. Whether it's coming from the shifter itself or change that's just been lost down under the console, etc. etc. Sounds are the hardest things to diagnose since we can't hear what you're hearing.

My suggestion is to take a friend out with you when you drive the car. See if they can hear more closely where the noise is coming from while you drive. Have them place their hands around the console to see if they can feel it as well. Once you have a general idea of where the sounds is originating, finding the source should come in short order.
