Shifter light

Can anyone tell me if a coloured light is suppose to show in what gear your in ,as the only light we see is the regular white light on all the gears? I know the cluster shows what gear we are in but its kind of frustrating not being able to see exactly what gear your in on the hand shifter.

No. The center console shifter is just backlit with a single color L.E.D.

As for a gear number no there is no way unless you use the paddle shifter.
