my first Brace made has shown that there are some small problems...but... after seeing the new part on the trans case I have some new input on this brace.
1st. the main rod . this rod has a fixed length making the shift position fixed inside the cab ( IE ... the arch position of the shifter ) by changing the length you can change the position of the stops in witch the shifter stops. Forward stops would be 1st , 3nd , 5th. Rear stops 2nd , 4th and R
All your doing is changing the fulcrum point that the shifter uses. This does not affect the length of travel only the position of the shift.
now how do ya know what you would like ???? a forward or backward position. Well making this rod adjustable would give ya the option of changing this to what ever ya like.
After I finish up with the std brace. I'm thinking of making a adjustable one to see what all is affected by this.

Anyway my thoughts on making the finished unit is this.... If anyone has the need for this I can make them up after the fixture is done with the first one.
Please keep in mind I do this as a part time. So I get very little time to play anymore in the shop.
But If ya have any thoughts on making this better let me know. and if ya think you would want a shifter brace to replace the weak factory mounting method let me know

OK Its Done....The shift rod has about 5 / 16 pass bye clearance from the fixed rod. I used a ploy bushings and sleeves from a focus rear control arm for the new front fix rod bushing. The shift feels soild. Next I'll be working out the adjustable link. So far so good.
