Shaving Aluminum SFB's

i can't seem to find the threads, but i remember talk of shaving the top aluminum SFB's to help correct suspension Geometry on lowered cars. i don't remember how much ppl were cutting them though.. anyone remember this conversation????

I've heard of putting a spacer under the steering rack to raise it up to correct geometry, but shaving a subframe bushings would do something similar, but would also raise the engine and possibly cause rubbing issues.

from what i remember the rubbing issues are minimal if you use upgraded mounts. can also probably fix that problem by removing the underhood mat.

also.. i already shimmed the rack, wich helps with the steering portion, but doesn't do anything for the altered angles of the axles and controll arms.

I have ASB's from B. King on my 89 and flipped them the opposite way, can't remember if it made the engine a tad higher or lower. Whatever way it is, though, my front STB bearly clears the manifold. I couldn't imagine shaving the bushings, raising the engine even more!
