So I've been out of the SHO game for about seven years now, and haven't been on this forum for about the same amount of time. Came back on and surprised I remember my original username and password! Horrible username...

Back then I had a 91 White SHO+. Super clean. It was my first car, and sad to say I ran it straight into a pole 3 months after having my license :(

Anyway, I've strayed towards the Japanese market since then, messing around with drift cars. I fell in love with the AE86. However, I've gotten sick of my drift car also being my daily, so I went on craigslist and searched "manual" and BOOM I stumbled across this gem.

Only $2000! The car is immaculate minus needing a window regulator, door lock actuator, and a very intermittent long crank condition. And of course ball joints, but thats always expected. It is a Ford after all. The owner had a stack of papers of all the service history, all neatly organized. It's only got 300 miles put on since Feb 2011!

So I'm again a proud SHO owner. Hopefully next summer I'll be more settled in my new job so I can afford a nice newer daily, and turn this into a Subaru killer. Simply because those guys are kinda full of themselves. I know, I used to be one.

Nice! I'd have definitely bought that one due to the mileage, even if it is green.

Welcome back to the SHO fold. At least you know what to expect maintenance-wise :)

Don't know if it can be a Subie-killer, but sure, it can compete. BUT, a lot of work needed to get to that point. You can look at the work yamahaSHO (Jason) had done to his SHO as kind of a guideline.

Whatever you decide to do, don't skimp on the pics & vids so the rest of us can gorge ourselves!

Welcome back! Hope you don't get the itch as bad as I did... I was out for 7yrs, and when I came back in July I had just bought a Red '95. Since then I bought a Black '93, a Red '89, a Blue '93, and a Green '94 all in the same week! And about 5 weeks ago, I bought another Black '93... lol

Haha dayum. I don't quite have room for multiple cars, but I definitely got the mod itch after seeing a pic on here the other day. Forgot who's it was. White 2nd gen with a fat intercooler instead of a bumper? Sitting on SSRs.

I don't expect to hang with modded STIs or anything like that, but spanking some WRXs would suffice. I just need some boooooost

^^^Yessss!! That car is beautiful. I generally prefer a turbo set up but with these, it seems like supercharger is a LOT easier.

I agree. You can put more power to the trans because it's a progressive power curve. Jason(yamahaSHO) was pushing 438hp. Our trans generally fails around 350...

Thanks, the car was damn fast and a lot of fun to drive. But after not being able to get traction in 3rd at times, it just wasn't for me. I put my attention back to my highly prepped autocross car, which doesn't quite have as much horsepower but is an all around faster car.

Blowers are fun, but for my own reasons I would only strictly run a Turbo if I were to do a FI SHO ever again.

And yea, the SSR's stayed with me.

Good choice. IMO not too many wheels actually look good on SHOs, but those definitely work. Damn... now I want wheels.

Still not happy with you Sam for not keeping it and selling it to me! Lol JK. The first mod you need is a High Flow Y-pipe! I made a thread a few weeks ago about the different ones "WITH PRETTY PICS"... If you don't have emissions I would go with the SHOsource Catless one, otherwise pick up the Magnaflow from www.rcmautomotive.com on sale for $259!
