My SHO is really ******* me off and I would like some help if possible. The problems that I am having is that is misfires and when I press on the gas it feels like it doesn't want to move. When I get ready to pull off it takes off really slow like it doesn't want to move and then it will start backfiring and after a while it will pick up speed and then it's like I just hit a wall. I press on the gas and it's like it's clogged up or something. Could someone please help me figure out what the **** is wrong. Oh and my engine feels like it is shaking. peace

Are you plug wires wired up right?

There are copies of Chilton manuals showing the incorrect order to my understanding.

Did you recently have any work done?

Have you ran your car for codes?
Have you checked for oil in the plug well seals?
Have you checked your fuel pressure?
Just a few sugguestions to get you moving in the right direction.

Bad Valve Cover Gaskets cause oil in the plug wells.

When was the last time you replaced:

- Fuel Filter?
- Spark Plugs/Wires?
- Timing Belt?

Check codes.

Unless your wells are REALLY flooded with oil or your wires and plugboots are blatantly damaged, it should not cause such a condition all of a sudden.

Try this if no codes come up:

-Prime the pump (if it primes) and push down on the schrader valve on the fuel rail to see if you have pressure.
-Run tests with a multimeter or test light on your ignition system. Pheonix SHO has a good procedure for this.
-Hook a timing light up and see if you are loosing spark.
-If all passes well, do a leakdown test. Maybe your timing belt stretched like a rubber band for some strange reason.

It sounds like an ignition problem because it happened all of a sudden. Fuel related problems are USUALLY gradual and progress in severety if not tended to.

I'm putting my money on the ignition, most likely a coil pack or a DIS module because the engine is affected as a whole instead of a skip or stumble from one or two cylinders (according to your description at least...). Or if you used crappy gas for too long, then perhaps your all your spark plugs are suddenly shot. But, unlikely...

If you've checked all that has been suggested and have found nothing, check the TPS.

I checked the plugs and there is oil in the wells, the back three plugs were disconnected and the 5th plug had a lot of oil in it, so I cleaned all the wells and today I'm going to put new plugs in. The plug wires look like they are new, I also noticed that the pulley on the water pump is loose it wobbles is there any way that I can fix that and where is the tensioner for the serpentine belt. Thanks for all the help you guys I really appreciate it. peace

Putting new plugs in and ignoring the gaskets will yeild the same results in no time.

And what do you mean the pulley is loose? Is it wobbling? Have you removed the belt to see if the pulley is still good?

If your waterpump pulley is "wobbling", it usually means you have larger problems... like a failed waterpump. If this is the case, replace the pump promptly. You don't want metel shards from a broken shaft being pumped through the coolant system.

with 100K you also change the fuel filter along with the plugs and the valve cover gaskets. The pully tensioner is located almost right under the battery (which has to be removed) and can easily be done with a ratchet and socket. Once the belt is removed the pulleys can be checked. It is best to replace the belt even if it looks good, they are only about $20. Any loose pullys should be removed and checked for damage before being re-installed. Often it is a shered or broken nut or bolt and easily repaired. Although some may have welded pulleys and those suck! GL
