Ok guys.I just installed new plugs/wires valve cover, intake gaskets.I had the intake cleaned at a local machine shop. All was good.Put all this stuff on and now it does'nt want to idle.I ran codes and it says lean condition and tha CANP is clogged.Well I bypassed the CANP(did'nt help).Does the IAC valve ONLY controll idle while it is at a coast?I read that somewhere. If so,what takes over from there?I bought a new TPS from Autozone with no luck. They let me take it back though. So,where am I at now? Thanks for any help.Ohh yeah I forgot to say that this car ran almost perfect before the $300 worth of work. Thanks again!

NMI (Need More Information)

What were the specific codes? If both O2 sensors were reading lean then you have a vacuum leak or an engine control system problem.

Since the intake was just removed and repalced, I would check all of the gasket surfaces, runner connectors and vacuum line connections. How did the shop clean the intake? Did it stay fully assembled or was it taken apart? NMI.

Hey Scott.I took the itake apart for them to clean.I DID have a bad leak had the whistle but a bolt was loose over the secondaries.Codes I get are 13-41-85-91.The car runs AWESOME other than idle and highway(around 60mph when throttle is just cracked). It runs better now than ever.I bought a throttle position sensor today.Did'nt help so I took it back.I know the code 85 is the purge canister.Could it do all this? Also I cleaned my IAC yesterday with no luck. While the car was running(badly)I unplugged the IAC and it straightened out for about 30 seconds then died.Any thoughts???

You just scared the **** out of us. I hope they only glass beaded the outside, and sealed it up real good. By the way, it can take a couple of days for the computer to re-learn the idle. There is a procedure, but I never bother with it.

The idle speed reset procedure is as simple as allowing the engine to idle on its own for at least 30 seconds after starting the engine following a battery disconnect. Or look here.
