the camless diesel motors work very well becasue they are actuatedwith oil pressure and that oil helps to cushion it when the valve shuts, that's the main problem they have with making it work in a gas motor, when the valve snaps shut, its breaking valve stems. The camless diesel engines is supposed to come out in the F-series next year

I drove an Intrepid for a month when my baby was in the body shop and it sure as **** didn't feel like 200 hp! You had to rev the bejesus out of it to get decent momentum, kind of like a Honda motor!
i definately know what you mean. my aunt has a 2000 intrepid and it's like driving an ice cream truck compared to my 92mtx. oh, and the autostick feature is a peice of crap too. the only thing that car has going for it is braking power.

there is another reason this technology is being used first in diesel truck engines. low revs. Some of the big inline 6 diesels have redlines around 2 grand. Gotta learn to walk before they can run, so don't expect to see this in high reving gas motors for a while.
