Seat Belt Latch Questions

Got a 95 SHO. The drivers side seat belt latch broke a couple of weeks back. I'm looking to replace the latch, but my normal shops won't touch a repair job due to liablity problems. I'm also told that Ford no longer stocks replacement latches.

Several questions:

- I've read the Gen2 SHO has custom seats. Are the latches custom, or will standard Taurus latches work?

- Also, any advice on how to proceed woould be appreciated.

Standard Taurus latch will work. Just make sure it has the connector on it for the seat belt light on the dash, though they all should. The hardest thing will be having to pull the seat to access the bolt that holds in on.

A quick follow-up.

The local junkyards are not looking promising for a Taurus latch for my 95 Taurus SHO (Gen2).

Any recommendations for online ordering?

I might be going to the junkyard this weekend, I can pull one for you, if you need it. I wouldn't expect it to be more than $15 or $20 to buy it and ship it to you.

What kind of junkyard doesnt have at least one 1992-1995 Taurus? I think even the 1989-1991 ones are the same, not sure.
