Sai delete question

When deleting the sai system does anything need to be capped off? Im chasing a lean condition on my car and im trying to rule that out since mine is deleted.

How deleted are we talking? just pulling the pump, or pulling all the hosing back to the exhaust pipe?

Just pulling the pump - nothing required.

Gut everything, there is a solenoid in that line that needs to be accounted for, but if it was off and the tubing was wide open, you would surely hear a sizeable exhaust leak.

Just the pump and rubber tubing that goes to aird valve. The rest is still hooked up. My ltft is +25 at idle and goes down with rpm witch seems to indicate a vaccum leak at idle but im having a hard time finding one.

Get a can of carb cleaner and spray around hose ends, any source of vacuum.

When a vacuum leak grabs the carb cleaner and sucks it in the rpms go up.

This problem has been going on for a long time i was under the impression that it was the iac and because i could not find a oem one,that the aftermarket one was not working correctly .

I finally found a oem one and that didn't fix it, its still acting like it wants to die at idle, stalls occasionally, sputtering, if hold the throttle at 1500rpms it will rev up n down slightly. Also can hear pre ignition at full throttle sometimes and exhaust popping at idle.

I now know it's running lean more so on bank 2. Over the last few weeks i have soaked the motor and vacuum lines in carb cleaner and propane, capped off all vacuum lines one at a time with no change in stft. Also replaced injectors,egr with spear set i had.Only thing left to do at this point is compression test but i don't think thats it because when it runs right it pulls way to hard to be low on compression.

How old are you O2 sensors?

I replaced the bank 1,s1and bank 2, s1 about a 2 weeks ago only because they where the original sensors. On FORScan they where switching properly but i fingered they be a lil lazy after 20+ years.

Did you spray around the AIRD? What is FORscan showing for vaccum at idle? Have you a vacuum pump to test the vacuum? Assuming there is a vacuum problem.
