I have aquired a set of S2000 Projestors. I realize that they are not bixenon (high and low beam). I don't really need a high beem with these do I? I mean they are bright as ****.

thanks

The only reason you might desire a high beam is to "flash" other drivers without the risk of getting arrested for indecent exposure.

The S2000 projectors are among the very best. You should be very happy with them once you get everything installed and aimed properly.

Did you get the S2000 ballasts as well, or are you using ballasts from a different application?

Nice work on the finding the S2K projectors. They can be found usually easy but they their expensive. One of the most expensive out their. And to answer your one question, no you don't need high beams and yes they are bright as ****.
The only time you my need the high beams is when you get yuor car inspected. here in NY, it is required that they work but most small garages don't check that. But a dealership will check it and they will fail you.
I got an S2K set-up in my red 98 SE. I got them form a former member here named Tom. Who had them in his gen3 SHO until he sold the car.

I'm also working on getting an E55 bi-xenon set-up made for my other 98 SE. This one is my daily driver so I'm going with the bi-xenon set-up.

Good luck with the retro :thumb:

All Honda OEM eBay

They seemed like they were a good price

Now all I need it to learn how to wire it up and custom fab it into the light housing? think this could be done in a weekend?

Also should I still use my HD wire harness?

I thought about going with the BMW or Audi but all the reviews I have read say that these are the best, also high beem dont have to be in the same housing do they? Figure I could slip them into the turn signal if I needed to

EDIT: anyone in Denver are know how to fiberglass, I wanna do a take off of the C6 vette, headlight, with a body color or black housing.

Yeah, So I ended up returning them cause the auction was just for the bulbs and ballasts. plus the housings were another 375. I'm a college kid and that is a little pricey. In the future though I would love to do this.

I've been tring to post a link to the site but for some reason when I try to go to the site my computer tells me my bandwith has been exceeded. I don't know what the **** that means, I have Road runner so i should be good.
Maybe you can get to it. It's at a site called hidplanet.com. Go to the forums and and choose the university section (I think it's in their) and it's titled something like S2K washer mod. Some thing real simple like that.

Sory about that, didn't know :bonk:

Perhaps I can post some of the pics anyways.

This should be a pic of some part of the projector. You have to take the shiled off by taking off one phillips head screw and you will end up with this. Two long "*******" one on each side of where the screw goes in. Just put one washer on each ****** (just like pic) and put the shiled back on.

And this pic REALLY shows the true sharpness of the S2K HIDs.

so... what is it exactly that makes the S2k's better than the rest??

It cant be the bulbs.

That leaves the ballasts and the housing (reflector)...then again if it is the glass, I have seen those for sale by themselves, could you buy them and slip them into a different housing?

I honestly don't know what's make them better than most other oem HIDs. I "think" it's the projectors. I also know that the Acura TL is also reported to have on of the best bi-xenon set-ups. And Acura is HOnda. So it's something that honda uses. And the TSX has some VERY good oem HIDs also.
