Rust along edge of hood and edge of trunk

looks like it can be salvaged, and the paint is probably not a difficult color match. do need to take care as it is along an edge, so needs to be painted and cured properly, no shortcuts.

That's encouraging, I've found a local shop that I'm going to have take a look at it next week.

To revive this post, I'm curious how others have dealt with this. I already know the cause if that Ford was having seam sealing problems for a number of production years around 2011 (the year of my SHO). They knew about it for at least a couple years before they took action (like the peeling chrome on Taurus taillights). The rust showed up on my 2011 shortly after the bumper-to-bumper warranty expired. I applied rust repair solutions periodically since it first appeared along the hood and trunk seams. (Interestingly, I haven't seen any issues with the door seams!) While it's not pretty to have the cured solution (black) on my silver car, it's all under the hood and trunk edge and not visible from the outside.

I'm curious what approaches others have successfully used to deal with the seam rust issue.
