runs choppy

Alright, i have a '93 SHO and its been acting kind of weird lately. When you start it up its very unstable and choppy almost like not all of the cylinders are fireing. then as you drive it it sputters and accelerates slowly. but at higher rpms it runs fine like probably after 3.5k. I was thinking maybe it was the spark plugs or the fuel pump. Any ideas? thanks

Sounds like a vacuum leak.

Pull the codes, and report back.

Do a little search on "60K" or "oil in the plug wells", this could be your issue.

i had same situation once, pull out a plug wire and check if its filled with oil,if so clean it out and rock on ( beat me to it!)

i cant pull the codes because i dont really know how. and i pulled out one of the spark plug wires and it fell apart: so imhoping those are it because im going to have to replace them lol

Yeah, I would start with plug wires... and since your'e there, plugs too.

would it make sense that this problem could have to deal with the transmission? because when i put it in reverse it runs fine as well as when i put it in nuetral and rev it.

did you fix the wires and get new plugs and maybe then it will be eaiser to figure out.

all right i just finished the plugs and wires and it still does it (not as much though). is there any way this could be the fuel pump? i just had my 60k done in december so i doubt thats the problem
