Everything was great until I started driving home from work. My engine started to shake violently (almost like it was missing or pre-detonation). and I could smell burnt oil. When I barely made it home I did a KOER test and received two codes, 116: Engine coolant temperature higher or lower than expected and 225: Knock sensor fault during dynamic response test.

And I just did a 60k....... Darn!!

Any help in diagnosing this problem would be great.

Thanks,
David

you cannot adjust the timing as you prob know. check the belt to make sure it is timed right. and the pulleys. mine had most of the bearings missing. but still ran great.

burnt oil? check your cam sensor. pull it off and check for oil in the housing. might have a blown cam (exhaust) seal and oil is getting in the sensor. try that and check the crank sensor for oil leaking on it. more work than checking the cam sensor.
