Ive been recently experiencing my "check engine" light coming on frequently. I visited midwestsho.com and got instructions on how to check the codes. I understand everything perfectly except when they mention before the first picture about "no electrical load on the car." What exactly does this mean?

Thanks

just make sure your headlights are off and youre not running any accessories at the time and that you dont have the car powered on for a stereo or anything :)

Well i completed the test and got the results. it came up with a 111, 617, and a 211. They mean ECT sensor is/was low or grounded. Transmission shift failure between 1/2. And ignition PIP signal was erratic or missing. Im definately worried about the transmission shift failure. I can feel the transmission being really jumpy and jolt a lot around 35-45 mph. Is there anyway to fix this?

thanks

That PIP (CPS) signal failure will also leave you on the side of the road. High priority.

i have gotten a PIP error from not having all my bolts in my crossover tube, and it caused erratic shifting and surging and such, so dont freak out yet. make sure your DIS module is properly attached to the crossover tube, then check the two big bolts holding the tube down. maybe take them off and scrub the connection sites with steel wool to make sure its mating right. otherwise the PIP sensor if your crankshaft position sensor. in which case you might want to look into doing a full 60k....but also check the grounding strap on the back of your intake, maybe it came loose.
