I remember seeing where some folks turn on their defrost to have the 2 fans kick on. Mine won't with that. The regular fan will kick on when called for to cool the engine. They both come on with the KOEO test. My A/C is low, and doesn't kick in the compressor. Do I need to jump out the pressure switch for this to work? As its starting to warm up it would be nice to have a little extra engine cooling til I can fix the A/C...

Both cooling fans should operate at the same speed whenever they are turned on. They are wired in paralell.

Speed control is achieved via a dropping resistor and separate relay for low speed control High speed is controlled by another relay that bypasses the dropping reisitor and applies full battery power to the fans.

Both the low and high speed fans are controlled by the computer which determines which, if any, fan operation is required.

The Electric Cooling Fan runs at low speed when the engine temperature is higher than normal (on at 102 °C, off at 99 °C), or A/C is on and vehicle speed does not provide enough airflow (on at 43 mph or below, off at 48 mph).

The Electric Cooling Fan runs at high speed if the engine temperature is higher than normal and the Fan has been operating at low speed (on at 110 °C, off at 107 °C).
