I have just bought a 94 sho and I have flushed my cooling system, and it still runs between the o mand the r on the temp gauge. I have replaced the radiator, thermastat, temp sensor on side of the motor. I also had the other night, one of the heatercore hoses blew off, and my manuel says that when you flush the system it should take about 11 qts of antifreeze and I cant get more than 6 qts back in it.

Have you checked your water pump yet? Very common for those to go bad. Sorry, don't know what to tell you about the cooling system capacity.

could still have alittle air stuck in the system...

which temp. sensor did you replace? the small one on the left bank of the big one on the right bank(next to the t-stat housing)
