Royal Purple

Well I took the plunge today and decided to throw some royal purple synthetic in my SHO. I've been using Castrol forever (non synthetic) and I've just been driving so much lately that I eun thru the 3K change intervals rather quickly.

My question to the rest of the synthetic users is what intervals are you using. My hopes is that I can at least double my change interval and somewhat break even with the extra cost and not have to change it so frequently.

I've heard the RP will seep more than regular or synthetic oils. Don't quote me, it's just what I've heard.

I use Royal Purple in 2 of my 3 SHOs. I change it at 6-7k miles & it seems fine to me. On my other sho I use Napa brand synthetic (valvoline) and change it at around 5-6k. And I use the Napa Gold oil filters (wix) on all 3.

I am using 5k intervals w/fram high milege filters. I want this car to last a long ,long time. Oh, I use Mobil

I use Mobil 1 with Ford filter and change it every 5K. I've never done an oil analysis so I don't know if that is too often of not (I've been told it is). Either way, oil gets dirty so if you are running it for extreme mileage you should probably change the filter at the normal interval and top off. My 0.02.
