My 1994 3.2 has a rough idle at about 8-900rpm. On top of that it will start to hiccup at about 2500 rpm when you just barely give it some gas. If you push slightly harder it stops and it will quit also if I disengage the OD. My mechanic hooked it up to their scanner/computer but couldn't pull a code. He said I'd have to drive it till it got worse then maybe we could find something. While driving across Washington state, sitting through an hour long traffic jam in the pass and the another 60 miles after that it decided to get worse and stop running. I'm familiar with what happens when the crank position sensor overheats and stops working. The rpms didn't go to zero it just lost power and quit running. The AC was on, temp in the normal zone and it was about 88 degrees outside just before sumset. Let it cool off for 1/2 hour and got back on the road with the defrost on 90 and the fan on full blast. Made it home (120 more miles) with it stumbling momentarily under load at 2500rpm again give it more gas and it stops. Even with the delays still got 23 MPG. Now the frustrating part. Just completed a 60K. All of the suspect areas were delt with. Cleaned the MAF, new plugs, wires lash check, valve cover gaskets and plug well seals etc... The ignition control module is OK. Any ideas anyone?
