I'm browsing Tirerack (was window shopping for 17 inch wheels and tires that I can't afford) and looking at rotors and pads. Has anybody used the ATE Premium One rotors and/or their PremiumOne ceramic pads?

A related question: has anybody used one of those "paint the calipers while they're on the car" kits? How did it turn out? Difficulty? Where to buy 'em? My rusty calipers don't look so hot poking through the wheels. :p

thanks,

Scott

I recently used the Duplicolor Caliper Paint kit on my 97 SHO. The paint is ceramic based and comes in red, black, silver, and yellow. The kit contains everything you need. It's available at Autozone & Advance for less than $20. Due to the porousness of the cast iron caliper, it will take about 4-6 coats to get the desired result. The paint dries relatively quickly, but plan on 4 hours or so to do the job. You can mask & paint the calipers without removing them from the rotor. It looks very similar to powdercoating when done. A very inexpensive cosmetic mod.
