At this point I'd use Autozone before Crock Auto. The really fun part is I had to go to O'Reilly to get rotors because I had to beat the original rotor with a sledge hammer to get it off. They had no pads so I put the rotor on and left the original brake pads on. I ordered some new pads from Ford. Now I get to do this all again in a few days because Crock Auto sent the wrong parts. And want ME to pay to ship their mistake back.I use Summit Racing... no issues yet.
Sad, tbh I used to have that issue all the time with local auto parts places. They swore it would fit, get the core off the car, doesn't match. At this point I'd use Autozone before Crock Auto. Like I said, I must be stupid. I just wanted a "kit" that had rotors and pads. Seemed simple enough, and the price was right. I had sworn them off before but figured they couldn't possibly screw up something as simple as rotors and pads.I use shoforum to find part numbers and a few other places before I order anything. I got burned enough to know there are enough errors in parts systems to get the wrong one sent. It take a few times to get mad enough to pay a few extra $ to go local. At least the return and, if you have a correctable part number issue, it can get into the system and shipped out from hubs quickly.
Been there done that x 100 Majestic. I feel your pain and try to advise others accordingly. It's the shipping back PITA and extra wait time that changed my behavior.
Gold."Report a problem with this order?" Yes
"What is the issue?" Doesn't even sort of fit
"What doesn't fit?" Everything
"Did you try to install the part(s)?" Kind of
"So they are now used?" No
"What do you mean by no?" I noticed the rotor was too small as soon as I put it on the hub
"What about the pads?" They aren't even close to correct, never attempted to install them
"We'll need to have you contest each part of the order" I ordered a kit
"They might need to be returned to different locations in separate boxes" They came in a kit in a single box
"Do the parts have the number on the box that you ordered?" Yes
"Are they engraved in platinum on the parts themselves?" What?
"We can send you a label which will cost you roughly $50 to send these 5 boxes back, cool?" No
"Were you really dumb enough to order with us again after that battery fiasco?" Evidently
"Haha! Good luck" I hate you
Haha! No such thing exists.Sounds like you got a crap customer service rep. You might do well to ask for a supervisor. If you ordered the correct part number and that's not what arrived in the box, the error is on them and they should eat the shipping cost for the return.
That or just a difference between the regular taurus of same model year. Been fighting part number wars for SHOs vs regular taurus since the SHO submodel came out forever agoHaha! No such thing exists.
My guess, and it's just a guess, is that their system does not know the difference in the brake system between 2010-2012 SHOs and 2013+ and sent me parts intended for the earlier models. Don't care. I will not step on that rake again.
