Had plenty of road vibrations at 60mph and higher - then had new tie rods put on and an alignment. I still get the vibrations (steering wheel really goes to town) but don't know why?

Could it at all be that I need new struts? Could bad struts cause bad vibrations?

Also, I see there are plastic covers over the springs above the tires? Wasn't that the recall gaurd - they added those didn't they? Anyway it looks like the tire may be rubbing on that - I don't know how they couln't it's right up near it....

any thoughts?

SHO SPD is absolutely correct. It takes a dynamic imbalance (periodic unbalanced force) to create a vibration. Any looseness in the suspension or steering system (tie rods) will allow the vibration to be more severe (greater amplitude), but cannot create a vibration.

Where can I take it to get balanced? Any good shops? eek! shoot
A good place to start would be where you bought the tires. If they were on there when you bought the car shops that sells tires can do it for you at a reasonable cost.
