Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong. I've installed two different e brake cables from two different manufacturers. The last I installed was a raybestos, and it was even worse than the tru torque one I got from advance auto. Caliper is also rebuilt cardone I believe, and hoses are new.
Here's the problem. Cable is routed properly and I checked for free movement before I attached both ends. After I install the cable and actuate the e brake then readjust and actuate it sticks. The front cable is also new. I know for sure it's the cable because I disconnected both ends and tried to push the cable and it's 10 times harder than before.
My only guess is that i'm pressing too damn ******* the e brake and it's causing the plastic coating on the cable to somehow get chewed up a little. I inspected the cable I installed the other day and I noticed it. It was slight but noticable. I love when something so simple has to be a complete pain in the ass. I brought one back for a defect exchange and i'm going to wait to install it to see some replys. The cable isn't getting kinked either. The other two cables are raybestos if it makes a difference, but they're probably made in china also.

I had the same problem with the last caliper, not saying it can't be the arm though. I have yet to install another cable, i'm really thinking it's because i'm mashing the e brake to the floor. thanks

If your pushing it that far, then you need to adjust it so its tighter... If your cables are new.. it shouldnt be too hard... need some wrenches to do it..

It should be taught, not tight.. :) I gotta **** mine or something here this spring... mine are froze... again.. so I've been without a pbrake all winter.. so much for warming up the SHO.. :)

I have my brain farts at times, but i'm not that stupid. :)

I was just guessing it might be because I apply the brake with too much force. Then re adjust and apply, and re adjust as necessary to take up for cable stretch. I was standing outside the car and slamming it to the floor while doing this.
Never seize is my best friend, put some of that crap on there, and you should be good.
I'll put the other one on tomorrow and be gentle. I need a damn e brake, I never had one in my first sho.
One thing that might help someone, my front cable looked fine from the outside, but the section that goes into the body was rusted just past that rubber grommet.
Damn rust, might sell the car because of the dreaded rust.
