I took my SHO in for a number of repairs, new wheel bearings, fix passanger lumbar support (mind of its own), and ride quality.

When new the car had a great firm road feel, within the last 100 miles the car feels like a sway bar of strut is broken, car bounces and sways all over the road, has anyone else expereiced a bad strut in 29,000 miles?

Just heard from the dealer, fixing the bearings, but nothing wrong with the suspenions, idiots, they don't understand that someone that buys a SHO is a car lover and driver, and can tell when something is wrong.

Help any advice on this handling problem, thanks.

suspention sucks

Im from Ohio as well, had the same problem at 16,000 miles took it in 3 times for warrenty work. It went from the nicest feeling ride ever...to feeling like the car was dropped off a building. 20,000 27,000 34,000 miles for oil changes each time had them check out the ever evolving problems now 58,000 miles on the car still not fixed right and worse then ever...wtf

Well, I guess whichever poster wants to respond. Beam doesn't seem to be very active, but that doesn't mean they can't respond. And I'd be curious to know if Joe rotated his tires just prior to the ride getting worse.

Platoribs, why do you ask?

Sorry for the slow response. The wheel bearings were bad. I couldn't beleive it but when the front wheel bearings which are ball bearings, instead of tapers, the car started to wonder all over the road due to the increase in clearance.

New bearings fixed the problem, now my wife says there is a clunking sound, which I think I saw some where here that it might be the strut bushings.

thanks for all the help and make sure you have your bearings checked, a number of people have had this problem around 30K.

That's an interesting datapoint, thanks for the update.

On my task list for today is to try to figure out why my wife's EcoBoost MKT has a strange sound when braking. I had the wheels off before a trip a couple weeks ago to make sure there was nothing obviously loose or wrong and all checked out, but the noise remains (so I know it's not just a lugnut torque issue at least). Maybe I need to be more alert to signs of bearing trouble....

The noise on the MKT is definitely more abrasive in sound than tires. I half way expect to find some chunk of metallic particle embedded in one of the brake shoes (even though they are ceramic pads). A couple weeks back I confirmed it's not just a ridge of rust on the edge of the rotors, at least not so much that it would appear to be an issue.

I didn't get to this task today. My wife took it and the kids to the pumpkin patch while I was installing new storm windows on the house. I got done before they were back, so the 73 degree F weather was telling me to go on a bicycle ride. With all the trips up and down a ladder, up and down the stairs, and a 21 mile bicycle ride, my back and legs are not up the challenge of pulling those big wheels off the MKT tonight.
