Too busy...
can't remember where I read it, but someone said that flooring it up to 2k rpm's then shifting was excellent for gas mileage (horrible for rod bearings?) I don't really buy it, anyone else heard of it?
Yes, you just don't use every gear. For the SHO, it would be like accelerating up the on ramp in second until you hit 65 and then drop it into 5th and hit the cruise. I can't really comment on whether it saves gas or not, but I do that a lot. :woo-hoo: I believe the theory is that you get better efficiency at higher rpms from full throttle than you do at lower rpms?

No. If you are properly speed matching, using the clutch will not add wear. It can't. If everything is moving at the same speed when you disengage-reingage, then nothing slips, and the slipping is what wears it out. You might wear out your TOB a little faster, but it will still outlast the clutch unless your riding it. Lotta good info in this here thread. You clutch through 18 gears your going to burn out your clutch damn quick.
