I have pulled my headliner, and bought the material to redo it all.The question is what is the easiest way to strip the old fabric off without destroying the backing board?

I have had several headliners recovered. Pull the old cloth off and use a wire brush to remove the old foam that is left. Be sure to get all of it or the new material will not stick properly.

All that holds it around the moonroof area is the vinyl trim that pulls right off. Some ppl say you have to take the passenger seat out to remove it,but i had no problem just leaning the front seats all the way back! Do a quick search for how to take the moonroof cover off as i did see a thread about that.Hey is the huki laiu resturant still there in Chickopee ?Ate there alot back in 2001 when I was working in springfield, was a damn good buffet!

After you clean all the old material off, be sure to reinforce any weak areas with ducktape on the back side. I found the area around the sunroof to be a little weak so I reinforced them anyways. Made a big difference when reinstalling the headliner.

I can,t find my rose bud tip for the torch Donovan (AKA Junior)if i did it would of been a done deal! Any way the wire brush worked fine n took it all off, including the dried out fabic!I,ll get some duct tape in the morning n finish it up.Some spots were extremely weak and torn ,so i just glued thin card board on as a backer.THANKS FOR ALL THE TIPS GUYS.

i've been debating whether or not i should do it in my pick up. its got some holes jabbed in it from my fishing rod, and from the previous owner.

it didn't work too well in the truck i have now since it's a supercab, but with my single cab F150 i covered the headliner with a rebel flag i had. i got a red interior so it looked alright.

I did my wife's Mark, piece 'o cake. The hardest part is making sure not to break any clips taking the molding off and the visors are kinda a pain. Going to do my SHO soon. Btw my wife wanted Leopard print to match her floor mats...what the wife wants, the wife gets!
