I tore my front motor mount last week. I had to drive it today(bad idea) and some granny made me get on the gas to merge. Doing that i completly tore my top radiator hose right infront of the fastener. I have i picture ill email you if you want. Anyway im changing the motor mount tomorrow and ive went to shotimes and did a bunch of searches but i am still a little uncertian about it. How long realisticly for a beginer will it take, and is there anything i should do before i jack it up?

I haven't changed my busted front mount yet, but peeking around under the car it looks like a Saturday afternoon of work, maybe 4 to 8 hours.

Before you jack it up...make sure you have a few frosty beverages handy; working on a SHO can frustrate you to no end. Of course, that is optional. :D

Other than that, it should be a pretty straightforward job. Just make sure you don't drop the motor on any valuable parts of your anatomy. :)

Took me about an hour to change out my front mount. Not that difficult at all, just real tight area to work in.

Be sure to use a wood block to spread the load when you support the engine. I use a 2x4 near the edge of the oil pan. Do not place any loads in the center area of the oil pan or you will crack it. I have found that the upper bolts on the mount are much more accessible after the coolant has been drained, the tire and fender splash shield removed and the upper end of the lower radiator hose removed. Some of the earlier 3.0L SHOs (mine) had an interference problem between the rear DIS connector and the roll damper bracket. Disconnect the rear connector to make sure there will be no contact when the engine is raised.

Gives you time to check the two long bolts that go thru the mount, they are probably broken too.
