Is it possible to change the timing belt tensioner on an ATX without removing the crank pulley? I want to say the top and bottom covers came off first then the middle came off last, but I can't recall.

:thankyou:

Its been many years ago - but I think i've done it.

My tensioner failed and I had an extra on hand. You can remove all the accessory pulleys and the top two timing covers, then swap out the tensioner.

You just have to make sure that the belt doesn't move a tooth. If it does, you're done - got to pull the crankshaft pulley.
