Ever since I bought my SHO, the antenna mast has been broken. It is broken all the way down to the fender and I finally decided I will replace it. The problem is that I don't want to buy another Ford unit to have it fail like I have heard so much of them doing. Are there any replacement antennas that are worth looking at?

Blast7,

Several options exist, but I propose (in no particular order):

1) FODZ 1881 3A manual assembly
2) F3AZ 18A886 A antenna mast w/toothed belt
3) F3AZ 18A886 A antenna mast w/toothed belt, adding toggle switch control
for raising/lowering (override head unit "on")

If you go with OE, I'd highly recommend motor disassembly to remove the
broken pieces of toothed belt. Otherwise, you may end up like me: quick
install of new mast lasted two months, and yielded one unhappy pappy.

My Ford Master Mechanic brother-in-law is more forgiving of these parts than I, but
they appear to be a cheap, shoddy excuse of a power antenna (Hondas are no
different). How many SHO's have you seen with a nonfunctional antenna?
