Hello,

Can you possibly help! How do you remove the sunroof console to get to the switch for the sunroof? The damn button fell through for the second time (dealer fixed it the 1st time).

Can't find any screws or snaps, don't want to pry too hard it may break the plastic housing.

Thanks in advance.

I hope yours is the same as mine. The way mine comes off is to pop the map light covers off. Once you have those off you'll see the 2 screws that hold it in place. Hope this helps.

Unless you have my luck, and the screws are stripped.  shoot
One of mine was stripped also. Just spun in the hole. I have a tool that is small enough to reach up in there and slide behind the head of the screw. Once you do this, if you give it a little tug and turn at the same time it will come out with a screwdriver. If they are tightened down too much the screw will actually go all the way through the clip (past the threads on the screw).

The other option is to clip the head of the screw off, push the remaining part of it out the back side (which is no easy task) and get a new one to replace it.

Bizzy,

Just don't tug too hard when pulling the piece off. I did this and the bracket that the screws go through came off on me. I had to epoxy it back on :( It worked fine though. Then once you have the screws off slide the cover towards the rear of the car. There are two slip tension springs that will pop right out. Hope this helps.

BTW you may want to use a magnetic scredriver when taking the screws out. gravity has a way of getting a hole in one into those tiny crevices between the seat and console when the screws fall. just an added tip

A small, flathead screwdriver at the inboard edge of the light pushbuttons will unhook the tab and allow you to unsnap them to expose the two Phillips head screws. You may need to push the light bulb aside to get a straight shot at the screws. Once the screws are out you slide the console aft to free it from the metal spring clip at the rear. You can epoxy the switch back into place.

Must be a Red 95 problem now - I've been seeing this kind of post for awhile now and never paid any attention to - until last week when the button pushed through!
