Has anyone removed the front licence plate bracket/holder on a 90 SHO without messing it up? I really want to remove it but keep it for possible re-attach later.

I live in Florida and my SHO had the front bracket on it. Since I don't need it there living in Florida, I removed mine.

****Hope I don't get flamed for doing it like this****

I just took a flat head screwdriver and pried under the little tabs. Once I got enough slack between the tab and the license bracket, I grabbed ahold of the tab with pliers and just slowly worked them out. Presto!

The bracket is fine but the plastic (junk) hardware use to attach it to the bumper are pretty much useless now.

Hope this helps.

I did mine the same way tha CWhalenSHO did his. The new tabs are cheap when you decide to remount it later like I did.

Well I got it off but it broke the tabs off so now the nubs are in the bumber still. I guess I could prob drill em out when the time comes, unfortunatly I now have a dirt square ring where the plate holder used to be and it wont rub off :(

Thanks for the info guys.
