i was prepping my junk yard spindle by cleaning it. then i tried removing the ABS part from the spindle with a gear puller and a flat piece of aluminum, no luck. anyways, so i did what i can and i ruined the ABS part on the spindle. how does one remove it without ruining it? i was about to do my brake upgrade on my '93 ATX and held off on it until i can get the ABS part out first. anyone had this problem? any ideas are appreciated.....

You answered your own question. It takes a lot of force/pressure to remove/replace those sensor rings. You really need a press to do the job correctly, or at least take the spindle to a machine shop and have them do it for you.

I think he's talking about the sensor that's mounted in the steering knuckle. The sensor ring is on the outer cv joint. You must destroy the sensor to get it out of the knuckle. Then be careful putting the new one in so you don't crack that. I usually clean the bore out with a round file to help ease installation.
