ok, somewhat simple and maybe stupid question... I got the large bolt off from the battery bracket, but there are 2 10mm hex nuts on both sides of the battery which are 1/2 way threaded thru a long metal rod. How do I loosen these to get the top part of battery tray off to remove battery??

In a lot more of a time consuming fashion you could use a small wrench. Took me about 10 minutes to get it off but I did it.
In fact, if you hit the threaded rod with some WD-40 in the process, eventually the nut will be able to be hand loosened which makes things a lot faster.
