Removal of AC??!!

Im curious to the diffuculty level of removing ALL AC related parts(scale of 1-5..1 easy..5 hard) and what to do w/the compressor, gut it, can i take it off? and then find a measurement belt to replace? is that possible?...will this help/hurt anything else about the car?..i wanna remove ALL possible AC lines..its worthless to me!!! so i figure less strain on engine is good, and thats a start..thanx!!

I've run a shorter 6 rib belt. It was in the 41 1/2 inch area if i recall correctly (don't quote me though ;) )
It's easier to remove everything with the motor out.
