ok, so i am discombobulating a 1992 SHO and i want the remote entry to put in my wagon, i located everything i need and have thusly discovered it is conected to a gigantic wiring harness that runs everywhere, so my question is, do i need to pull the entire wiring harness out or is their soemthing else i can do? all i want is the remote key fob thing to work, i don't want the number pad on the door. I took a look at the wiring diagrams at the top and i am not in the slightest good at reading it, it's a bunch of lines to me. Also it wo9udl be satisfactory if it only works on the drivers door if that woudl make things any easier.

92's did not come with remote keyless entry, only the 93 and later did. The best you could get for a 92 (from the factory) was a keyless entry system which was basically they keypad on the door which allowed you to open one door, all doors, and the trunk (no remotes). If your 92 has a keyfob for it, it is either aftermarket or someone upgrade the KEM system to a RKEM system.

If you feel inclined to take on the task, you can convert a keyless entry to a remote keyless entry system. Someone made up a really detailed excel spreadsheet on how to convert a non-remote to a remote system. It contained all of the materials and tools that you would need plus the actual instructions on how to do it.

I have the file available, but just incase my file is out of date, i'll wait for the author to to repsond on the subject. According to the file properties, it was created on Oct 8th 2001, and it has "Gil & Lisa Shoemaker" and the author and "Joseph Van Oss" as the last person to save the file.

You will need to find out for sure. If it is the "correct" one it will have 3 connectors and an antenna wire coming out of it. If the '92 wagon does not have the buttons on the door it will be a much larger job since the wiring that goes to the RKE module is not there at all. The conversion that are mention here mostly have to do with converting an older 89-92 RKE car to the newer 93-95 RKE with a remote.
