Reman water pump

Have any of you ever tried any of the remanufactured water pumps that some of the autoparts stores carry.I am starting the collection of parts for one of my 60k coming up and checked into pricing and wanted to get some info on these water pumps before making my decision to try one.For the price it seems worth giving it a try.$50.00 compared to the lowest price I have been quoted for a new one $156.00.

Any responses from those that have tried them whether good bad or the ugly,would be greatly appreciated.

We will all recommend the remanufactured one by A1 Cardone. It's about $61 at any auto store. I installed it on my car and have had no problem. SDPatt recommends it so it has to be good.

Thanks SHO--ripper,they are alot of work to maintain.But I love'em anyway.Staying ontop of the maintenance is the key to successful SHO ownership.

Thanks for the input greg on the water pump,that really puts me at ease and saves me alot of $$$$.
If Scott uses them then I know their worthy.He is the SHO god of maintenance on these rare gems. thumbs_u

I don't want to burst anyones bubble. I ,ve had two rebuilt water pumps fail within a few months of driving. A real PITA. I purchased them from Rockauto and they have been gentleman about the return credit. I purchased a new pump for $ 105.- from Rockauto. So far so good. My recommendation is to spend the additional $ 40.- for a new one.

The 3.0L uses the A1 Cardone 57-1373 that I have been getting from O’Reilly Auto Parts for $61.45 with a lifetime replacement warranty. I intend to exercise that warranty when I wear out the one I installed at 225,000 miles. I have had good results with the reman pumps I have installed on many SHOs.
