The car hasn't started in who-knows-how-long, and I'm finally taking another look at it. I tried starting it with one of the plugs out (true left side of engine, rear plug) and I get a weak looking, orange red spark. I expected a nice, healthy blue spark. I tried holding it to a body ground, an intake support bolt, and I also grounded it to the fender (right off of the battery) and the same result each time.

I decided to take out each fender ground fastener and each exposed bolt off of the intake and clean them completely. Then I will go through and clean out all of the mounting surfaces and the female threads.

Is this a sound plan of action or am I wasting my time?

So I can't read an ohmmeter, I found out... when I tested my spark plug wires I was getting readouts of 2 and .98 on the left bank of wires. The furthest left was 2, and the other two were .98. This is with the meter set to 20k. Is that right?
