I recently installed a Clarion SRV303 powered subwoofer in the spare tire area of the SHOwagon, and I must say, it's pretty good for the money. No, it's not going to "thump" like a whole trunk full of speakers and amps, but it does improve the sound at normal volume levels. The bass sounds a little "muddy", but I expected that from this unit.
It's only 64 W (120 max) and has a small 7" speaker. But, the best part is it is less than 3" thick so there are many places you can mount it. It costed about $175 shipped and installation was pretty easy once I figured out the wiring colors.
So if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive afternoon project to improve the factory sound without taking up a lot of space, this amp/sub is OK.
Just thought you may want to know.
Has anyone else ever installed this unit? How about the Kenwood KSC-SW1? (The Kenwood is a similar small powered sub.)
