The rattle from higher DB's of bass.....What is it? My SHO is out of the "bumper to bumper" and I figured I'd attempt to figure/fix myself...Did some digging around and found 1-3 things that could be causing it all within that rear shade...Any information on this would be appreciated Thanks!!

Hey Aaron, i've just done a quick search for sunshade rattle and come up with a few threads.
I'm sure you'll find answers in there.

I discovered one thing, make sure you have your sound system set for stereo and not surround sound...the surround sound is terrible in the car and will sound much better if you set it on stereo. Mine sounded like it was rattling - eliminated it completely by changing from surround to stereo.

I was looking at the rear sunshade in a 300C (yes Chrysler) and I think its way better than ours. I think all this is what was pulled from Mercedes during the merger timeframe. It seems to get pulled up on rails from the sides, so quiet and very classy like. Ours is more like a scissor action so not the best in terms of engineering something like this.

I found that my 'rattle' during those bass moments wasn't from the sunshade, but, was instead, from the rear high mounted brake light 'cover'. I wedged a little piece of paper under it, between the glass and the cover and it stopped the noise.

That totally fixed my rattle!

I had taken it to the dealer and they said part of the fix would be to dial back the stereo a bit which would affect the sound...I said no thanks. Later I read this and decided to check and sure enough, the surround sound was on. Turned it off and its like I have a new system in my car. No rattle and it actually sounds better too.
