went to change pads and roters today on the rear of my 91. The caliper bracket has those two pins with nuts on the end that the caliper bolts to. they have a rubber cover on them. My question is, should those pins slide in and out? I got the piston in but could not get the caliper over the new pads...any help? Thanks

Go get yourself a new set of caliper brackets, there like $20 at Autozone and include a new bracket, pins, and rubber boots. If the pins can't move the caliper will not be able to self adjust and you will mess up a bunch of stuff if you try to force it.
