I have an 89 with Baer front brakes. My level sensing valve was frozen in the "least braking force" position; a.k.a = valve lever not pushing down on pins. With 262k on car it was a tough job to get old valve off. Consisted of spraying the four lines with P blaster, heat with torch for 10 seconds, wait a few minutes and do it again. Put in new valve and discovered a line near valve had burst one foot forward of valve due to corrosion caused by the brakeline clip retaining salt for 13 years. Cut out bad section and put in "splice kit". Ty wrapped valve in full force position. Now the braking is extremely good with no lock up of rears unless I "emergency brake". So, if your sho is getting on with age check for porous lines in the line clips------this is why my E brake was only working with one wheel and my rear passenger brake worked less and less and then not at all. If you have big aftermarket brakes up front I recommend you Ty wrap the valve and check your systems braking power--you can simply cut the wraps if you don't like the outcome.
