I need to know where the left and right rear brake lines are located when I look at the black 3 union brake line block located in the engine compartment.

I know the left front wheel line is not in this block, and I know the 3rd union (from the left) has the right front wheel line.

I need to determine what the first 2 unions serve, I know they go to the back, but which one is left and which one is the right line.

Thanks

Here is a picture of the 3 union block in the brake system: The first 2 lines go to the back of the car, anyone know which one is the left side brake line and which one is the right side line?

What year is your car? I also have a 94 Helms manual, but the diagrams look the same. Is this for your 95?
They have part numbers for the two rear lines that go into the rear block (view X). I guess we can't tell if the top and bottom lines are directly connected (that would be the simplest, but who know what Ford did). But if they were, you could tell which line is going to the rear left and which line is going to the rear right by looking at the part number. Anyone know how the internal lines feed in the rear distribution block?

Are you getting the lines from Shonut? I would think Josh would know which parts to order for you.

I can trace the line with the leak, back to that proportioning valve near the rear suspension.
My observation is the valve block has an upper and lower fittings, the upper being the output lines to the calipers and the lower being the feed lines from the master cylinder and hydraulic unit. My guess is that is the circuit route, in the bottom and out the top. I doubt that it criss-crosses inside that aluminum block.

Without a diagram, that is how I am proceeding.

Does anyone have a memory that verifies this guess?

That brake block at the back is called the "Brake Load Sensor Proportioning Valve" and the core part number is 2B547. It is used on all 86 to 95 Taurus and the 96 and up models use one that looks the same to me.

So far, I am finding this part is treated like a trade secret, as I can find no information in any Ford manuals. Does anyone have information? Does anyone know the manufacturer?

All I am looking for: is the flow path of the fluid - in the bottom and out the top on the left side and in the bottom and out the top on the right side. In other words - there is no criss-crossing of the fluid path inside the valve from side to side.
