Ok I've searched the forum and there is some information but nothing exactly what I need. I have a 92 MTX that the brake lights aren't working, all 3 ...... I have signal and running lamps but no brake lights. As stated above I performed the search prior to posting but there are a lot of acronyms that I am unfamiliar with to check (BOO sensor?) .... I am fairly mechanically inclined - HOWEVER - wiring is def not my gig, if someone could post a checklist leaving out the acronyms and also providing a location this would be extremely helpful.

BOO = Brake on/off switch. It sits behind the brake pedal bar, if I remember correctly. Have you tried probing the contacts on the outlets while someone depresses the brake? You should get 12v.

Put a multimeter on the pins and had my daughter press the brakes: no voltage reading.

Key was off but that should not matter ...(?)

there is also a fuse to check that controls that circuit. My red 94 had the problem of occasionally blowing that fuse. iirc, it may have had something to do with the bad cruise switch on the master cylinder, but not sure.

Cruise control won't work if the brake light switch is bad. Swap out your switch.

I'm referring to the switch on your brake pedal that activates the brake lights when you push the brake pedal. Working cruise control that stops working the same time that the brake lights stop working is going to be related to a bad Brake Light Switch.
