I have a very bad clunking noise in my 93 coming from what it seems the rear drivers side tire. When I'm making a left turn it sounds like my wheels going to snap off even though i know it isn't I've looked at everything I cannot seem to find this problem. Anyone have any ideas of where to look? I was originally thinking strut mounts.

Worn strut mount; the rears are nototious for this. the opening in the rubber mount gets stretched out to the point that the strut rod bumps against metal where the strut mounts to the car

I have a simular prob and sounds as you describe.Ive changed tie rods inner and outter and also wheel bearing and lca and also replaced all subframe bushings.Still making the sound so now have to do strut mount with hope.Mine does it at any time, stop go and while turning. You just have to replce older parts to start narrowing it down.Good luck.

Broken subframe. I almost guarantee that where your strut rods attache to your subframe is broken on both sides. Read the sticky at the top of this forum. I posted a how to on installing the fix kit on the 5th page of that thread.

He said sounds like it's the rear guys. It's either a broken strut mount or a sway bar endlink. It's possible it's the tension strut rod or wheel bearing, but those are less likely. Also check how tight your spindle to strut bolt is, it might be the spindle rocking around on the strut. If you end up grabbing that trans or w/e off me I'd be happy to take a look at it for you:)
