Reading spark plugs

Last week, I changed my spark plugs, [power down and gas mileage a bit worse]. When I pulled the rear bank plugs 2 of the plugs were more discolored than the other 6. [#1 & #3 on rear bank] The other 6 were ,for lack of better terms, wheat straw tan while the 2 in question were closer to pine straw brown. I went ahead and replaced the #1 & #3 coils to be on the safe side. What other factors would cause these 2 plugs to discolor? Plugs were changed at 30k instead of the usual 50k. THANKS

The coil/wire combo or the plugs themselves are by far the most likely things to cause it, but if the color variance was slight, I suspect it would not be a major problem regardless.

Did you check for any relative gap variances between the two color groups?
