To get this thread back on track I also have a hesitation or surge when the car downshifts from 6th or 5th at around 40MPH. I haven't done anything about it because I'm worried they make it worse and it's not that bad. I can usually control it with judicious use of the throttle but sometimes I forget and I get a shove in the back when all I wanted was a smooth downshift. Now if I'm in a hurry and I bury the throttle than I'm looking for that quick downshift and that shove in the back :)
Anybody have a solution to the light throttle downshift not being smooth?

Basically the Blind spot light stays on (mind you it's only on the driver's side and never the passenger side) and I get a message that says Blind Spot Malfunction. It just doesn't work until I stop the car, turn it off and then turn it back on again.....

My car is a 2011 so I'm not sure if they same TSB for the 2010's will cover it.....

That's exactly what mine does even after the TSB, so no, these are separate issues.

Well, my 2011 has started exhibiting signs of throttle hesitation. Today was a bad one when I was turning left at a light and then the advance green arrow came on. I step on it to clear the intersection and the hesitation kicks in. It was like a 1-2 second wait for any acceleration while my car just rolled forward.....
Meanwhile, I'm getting impatient honks behind me.

BKSHO11: Which dealership did you take your 2011 to? I'll try my dealership first of course, however I like the fact that your dealership resolved your problem and are familiar with it now after your issues.....

My 2011 has done it 6-8 times, very sporadic, I don't think it has ever done it after it gets up to temp. Mine feels like tranny slippage since the car actually starts slowly rolling forward followed by a thunk into gear and off we go.

I have had my car since Memorial day, 1,275 miles so far. I'm holding off taking it in for now to see what develops since it has not been serviced yet. Plan on taking it in sometime before Christmas.

I bought and had mine repaired at Art Barry in Leduc. Cal is the service manager, he is familiar with the TSB and problem.

Thanks a lot bud. I like to have a backup dealership just in case..... Mine was purchased at Team Ford in Edmonton and so far they have been great to deal with. I think that I'll have this checked the next time I bring it in.....
How are you enjoying your SHO so far? I know that I love mine :)

Not a thread I'm pleased about joining! 2011 with 2800 miles and this just started yesterday and it only seems to happen when the car is cold. After about a half mile of operation, I don't think it has ever done it after it gets up to temp. It feels like the trans is slipping as the car actually starts slowly rolling forward followed by a bang (no noise) into gear. I'm going to drive around with the paddles for a few days and the re-evaluated the behaviour.

Exactly what mine is doing. Started about 6 or 8 weeks ago. Kinda sporadic it will go for days without doing it. I will be getting my first service in a few weeks and going to let them know about it then, providing it gets no worse.

throttle hesitation -2010

Hey Guys...just joined. My 2010 has 24k, and it does the same thing you describe at all speeds (80 mph, 20 mph etc) with the cruise on or off. It only does it every now & then, so I have not officially had it serivced for this problem. Thanks for the info!

Any of you having transmission slippage, hard shifts, etc., no matter how seemingly insignificant, are definitely having the same problems I had and require the TSB that replaces the transmission range sensor. My issues started small and eventually became so bad I was concerned about even driving the car. The first trip to the dealership did no good as they could not replicate and therefore did nothing. The second trip, after replacing the peeling chrome trim around the rear tail lights, I forced the issue and they finally checked the transmission and performed the TSB. The car now drives perfectly. Now I need to pursue the brake issue/TSB as I have been having the grunting noise since new and haven't thought much about it except that it was unusual.

Force the transmission issue with your local service department, otherwise...well you know what you are living with now.

AMEN! or a Torrie - Unleashed Performance Tune.....

Both address Throttle and Tranny issues!

Soon... I will have both... compare... & declare!!!!

( OK... no declare... can't play favorites as they are both great tuners and companies!!!)

Darreli and I are both very happy with our tunes... They are reliable and most important, solve many of the issues with stock programming... ARE YOU LISTENING....FORD..... What we need is a Ford program that is both warranted and both solves our performance issues. Engine can handle a lot more! Tranny should be able to do so also... Certainly the rest of the drive train can be handled with some software that retards things minimally at the right time, and still gives us G8 GXP times or better... Like... 12.0 for SHO and 12.5-7 for Brick. Don't think these are unreasonable considering the 420 lbs of torque the EB F150 engine is developing!

Ford... Am I dreamin????

TR Sensor - 9E9Z-7H557-B
Retaining Pin - 7T4Z-7B210-A

Anyone know the ballpark pricing for these parts? I've got about 20k miles on my Flex Ecoboost and am thinking about changing my transmission fluid and filter in the next few thousand miles. Since I have also been experiencing some mild symptoms described in this thread, I was thinking it might be a good idea to replace the sensor while I'm in there anyway.

The dealer replaces them for free as part of the TSB.

You should be able to find the sensor and pin for around $50-70.
Just be aware that these parts are located behind the main control cover and removal of the solenoid body is required. A modified crows foot is needed to remove the pin and if the parking pawl rod drops out you are removing the transmission and disassembling it to reinstall.
I normally use side cutters to remove the pin but it is really tight to get in there.
Why not just have the dealer do it under warranty? That would also change a good portion of the fluid for you.

The filter on this trans isnt really servicable I would recommend a just a drain and refill with Mercon LV fluid if you really feel the need to change it.
There is also a special refill checking procedure on this trans also.
If you decide to do it yourself let me know and Ill go into refill details.
