hello. This rattling sound I hear sometimes is driving me crazy.I read alot about throw out bearing going bad on mtx.I have a 95 atx.A new transmission was put in 3 months ago.The rattling is heard sometimes, and sometimes not.Mostly when in drive, and pressing the accellerator from the stop position.(about 1100-1300 rpms)when in park, nothing is heard. It is not coming from the motor, top or bottom.when i'm in the car pressing the pedal,it sounds like near the pipes under passenger front side. Does the throw -out bearing get replaced when a atx trans is installed?Any help pertaining to this mysterious rattling would be appreciated. The sho runs great, except for the tiny rattling sometimes. Thanks

just a thought... perhaps it is the flexplate?

my GTP did that at LOW rpms... it was supposed to have 3 torque converter bolts into it.. but i only had 2... it got al wobbly and bent.. but under WOT or hard acceleration it didnt wobble because it was spinning so fast.

check your flex plate if you can

more than likely an exhaust heat shield, almost garranteed thats what it is if they replaed the tranny recently...they had to move the exhaust system to get the tranny out, so that would loosen some stuff up.

usually the cat heat shield.

That u-bolt that goes around the flexpipe likes to come loose on my car. Tighten it up, and the rattling goes away. I too thought it was my heat sheild.
