ran yesterday but not today!

So my buddy bought a 94 mtx yesterday and we drove it home, which was a 300 mile trip. The car ran fine all day yesterday and everything was working great. Today he went to fire it up and and it had a rough idle and the check engine light flashed at him, so he shut it off and started it back up and it ran fine. But now he can not get the car started at all. Can you pull the codes with out the car running? I have reason to believe that it is the DIS on Coil pack, because they both have "zip-ties" holding the electrical clip on.

Hehe... That sounds very suspectable. Make sure that other things didn't come loose either. Like bolts for the intake. And such.

Worst case scenario the CPK wore out on the drive.

Hmm, band-aid fixes would be the first place Id look aswell. I had a 92 SuperCoupe that did the exact same thing. It turned out to be the DIS. Let us know what you find out.

stilll havin problems with this car! did a upper 60k no valve adjustment jsut plugs and wires, weel seals and gasket!.......turns over like it is missfiring wont start, possible if it jump timming??? we took off the uppper timming cover and i could wiggle the timming belt a 1/2" or so between the cams? should i do a front 60K on the car. timming belt cam sensor and crank sensor????

CPK = Crank Position Sensor
CPS = Cam Position Sensor

Strange I know.. but those are the abbreviations/ackronyms

fixed it! bad DIS module.

how much did yu find the dis for? why does every problem with thse things sound the exact same, but all are different problems? requiring very different fixes?

got the dis at autozone or something like that for 130 bucks!
