Sensor for BLIS is not located in the tail assembly.

The price of both the head & tail assemblies, have always been uber expensive for all model years 2010 and up.

Part of what's steered the owners as a whole, away from gutting them open & modding them.

I just don't see why the 2010-2012 tail lights are $150 new from Ford and the 2013+ are $900. I understand the 2013+ are LEDs and that makes them a little more complex. But that doesn't make sense why they're $750 more expensive.

To me, $150 for a tail light doesn't seem too outrageous from Ford. It seems pretty inline with all other newer vehicles. Even the $600+ headlights from Ford seems normal to me since they are projectors where the actual projector moves to make hi/lo beams. But $900 for a tail light? That's absurd in my mind.

If they do for some reason contain some special electronics in them, then it would make more sense. I thought the BLIS was in the bumper cover area but don't know.

A ***** ran a stop sign about 4 months ago I would say, he was delivering a T-Bone steak and I was the lucky customer to get it. It was about a month in the shop and the body shop did a pretty good job. I would go to the shop to see my red head under the knife twice a week. Just to make sure everything is going according. I believe that's one half of one side of the taillight assembly ($150). Both halves (to constitute one complete taillight, L or R) will come out to at least $350 OEM.

Correct, I was going off the price listed on Ford parts for equivalent markers (see posts 30 and 31). The $150 and $900 price is the same for one side marker that goes in the quarter panel (no the part on the trunk lid). So for a complete set of 2010-2012 it's going to be $350ish and a complete set for the 2013+ is going to be almost $2,000ish. That's what I'm saying, why is a set of tail lights around $2k? LEDs don't justify that price increase, I don't understand it.

Hello Joe,
Your Red Head is Beautiful! Looks like the first SHO I test drove.
The SHO sitting in my driveway would look just like yours BUT the dealer LOW-BALLED my trade.
So I walked...

Hey SilverSHO, 900.00 taillights will most likely make our 013-up major targets for theft.

Well, I will know how much the rest of them cost soon. Both lights in the deck lid are damaged and will be replaced too. The entire back of the car will have to be repainted too, gotta love pearl paint.

This is what the body shop told me, I really don't trust them either way.

Took it out of the preferred shop, to another. Estimate is now close to 9k. At least this one actually looked at it and gave me a real estimate, and isn't in the pocket of the Ins company.

Thanks for the update, hopefully good as new. If Insurance enters vehicle into CarFax than you might as well put the Scarlet A on the hood.
